Ready for Take Off

What a fortnight! Exhausting but strangely satisfying as we have achieved so many things and are now truly ready for an amazing break and adventure. YT safely delivered to Switzerland, fish tank handed over to a schoolfriend’s house, things all packed up and house handed back to the owner… last few items sent by (expensive) parcel via sea mail and last load of washing done in Singapore. Seems like we are all set.

Thanks to our very hospitable friends, we enjoyed a lovely final week in Singapore, which was our home for an amazing 12 years. We did a lot of the touristy things we had done many times before again and visited beautiful / artificial Sentosa by cable car (there is a great – and free – fish spa hidden in one of the hotels), did the round on the flyer one more time (this time with a finished skyline, not a model of what will be there as in 2008) and went to the River Safari again where we even managed to stretch Dylan high enough so we could all go on the (hardly) wild water boat ride inside.

More farewells after the party will make us miss all friends even more but also gives us some confidence that we will see many of them again – come visit!

Last round of packing all things for the trip will happen later today, a final dinner and then we are off to our first destination – Sumatra.

Ready for take off – next stop Medan!

And Gong Xi Fa Cai – Xin Nian Kuai Le to all of you!
