Omg… time flies! We had a beautiful time in Flores which easily is my favorite Indonesian island… friendly people, beautiful landscape, good seefood (ok, maybe a bit too much Ikan Bakar) and a nice and leisurely pace overall. After a stunning 3 days on the liveabord in Komodo national park with amazing diving and great snorkeling for all of us, we ventured on a great road trip across the island towards Maumere. Thanks to our driver, we had a great time and saw volcanoes, waterfall, hot springs, and beaches and a few hidden sights.
After flying like a local (with a lot of small bags as there is no check in allowance for Wings Air domestic flights) to Bali, we enjoyed a relaxed day at Jimbaran beach in a nice hotel with pool – the boys even made it to the beach while I enjoyed a pedicure at the spa π
Onwards the same night with the red-eye flight to Adelaide where we boarded the campervan – our home for the next 10 days. Cozy and cold with a low of 7(!) degrees celcius one night and a high of 30(!) another one – we could hardly believe such differences in temperature.
Kangaroo island was lovely and we managed to see lots of Koalas as well… remote Coroong National Park let us run up and down some sand dunes and Great Ocean Road provided the most amazing sites as expected. Next stop Melbourne for the flight to Tasmania, where we expect some even colder temperatures π«
Stay put for more adventures…
