With December rushing towards the end, it’s about time to look back to a very exciting, eventful, fulfilling, challenging, and happy year.

What adventures, what new experiences and what sights we discovered!

We just put together a wall calendar for 2020 and it’s unbelievably difficult to choose a small selection from the many, many pictures we have.

Still in Singapore at the beginning of the year, saying goodbye to good friends was not easy. Many thanks to all of you who helped to make the transfer a bit easier. But exciting adventures awaited, so we did not really have time to be sad.

Visiting a remote corner of the world was one of the most amazing things we have done as a family so far – one none of us will ever forget, I think. Thanks also to the many strangers we met and to the many friendly faces that welcomed us everywhere.

Coming back to Switzerland mid year was a bit scary, but the very warm welcome from family and friends we had not seen in a very long time or as frequently as we would have wanted to was wonderful. How would we settle? Where have we landed? But it was again a great experience, the boys settled in very quickly and we really found a home. Another thank you to all of you to have welcomed us back with open arms.

Getting started with a new business adventure, setting up another company, this time on the Swiss side was also challenging, exciting, and sometimes exhausting. We definitely learned a lot of new things and are probably in an even better position now to advise others – moving between countries and cultures. Thanks for all the help we received to make Shiok a reality for us.

Now we are looking forward to happy holidays, a few quiet days of relaxation before the new year starts in earnest – with all the challenges and joys ahead!
